Korea, March 1
Korea celebrated their annual "Fuck Japan" day festival with the traditional flag burnings,
rallies, and attacks on the Japanese embassy. The day marks the 1919 uprising against then
colonial power Japan, in which hundreds of Koreans were killed as the revolt was mercilessly
quashed. March 1st is one of the 365 days each year when anti-Japan sentiment is allowed to
boil over on the Chosen peninsula, and Koreans on both sides of the 38th parallel are permitted
to express their hatred towards their former colonial masters.
In an address to the people, South Korean president Roh (pronounced 'No') Moo-hyun, urged
Japan to stop trying to justify its past and to stop visiting Yasukuni shrine.
"We want actions to support the words not words to undermine the action," he demanded,
or some such gobbledygook. The words fell on deaf ears in Tokyo, as politicians expressed
amazement that anyone, especially the Koreans, could object to the peaceful years Japan
provided in the lead up to WW2.
"All they have to do is look at our past record to see that we are world leaders in peace,"
growled Koizumi, sporting a streamlined, trim version of the mane that has earned him the
nickname "Lionheart". "I visit Yasukuni to pray for the peace that our brave sons fought for
in the Emperor's name. The Koreans are just going to have to accept this without their constant
claptrapping and complaining. Besides which, they eat dogs."
